🌿 Natural Equine Interactive Growth & Healing®

Exploring the Horse-Human Connection

Sunday, June 7, 2026

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Equine Neuroscience • Herd Behavior • Mindfulness • Relational Awareness

Are you a therapist who needs more horse time? Curious about the healing power of non-predatory presence, co-regulation, rhythm, and embodied connection?

Join us for this small-group experiential intensive (limited to 6 participants), designed to bridge emerging discoveries in equine neuroscience and lived, felt experience. Through the lens of the Natural Equine Interactive Growth & Healing® (NEIGH) framework, participants will explore the shared neurobiology between horses and humans and how relational interaction influences stress, regulation, attention, emotional processing, learning, and connection across species.

Whether you are a therapist, facilitator, caregiver, equestrian, or simply curious about the mechanics of equine-assisted learning and therapy, this workshop offers a grounded sanctuary to deepen your understanding of the horse-human bond through direct interaction, herd observation, mindfulness, equine science, movement, and reflective integration.

The Clinical & Creative Lens

Recent discoveries in equine neuroscience continue to illuminate the remarkable similarities between human and equine nervous systems. Horses and humans share many of the same neurochemical and relational processes associated with stress, attention, bonding, learning, curiosity, and emotional regulation. As highly sensitive prey animals, horses respond honestly and immediately to subtle shifts in posture, breathing, tension, focus, rhythm, and emotional congruence.

Through guided experiential exercises and reflective observation, we explore:

• The Somatic Mirror — understanding how horses respond to human breath, posture, movement, tension patterns, focus, and internal congruence, offering immediate and honest feedback about emotional and physiological states.

• Shared Neurobiology — exploring how stress chemistry, dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, norepinephrine, rhythm, attention, and co-regulation influence both human and equine behavior, learning, and relational connection.

• Herd Behavior — observing herd dynamics and equine social behavior as models for relational safety, authentic leadership, boundaries, communication, adaptability, attachment, and collective nervous system regulation.

• Rhythm, Entrainment & Presence — investigating how breath, pacing, movement, rhythm, and sensory awareness influence emotional regulation, nervous system synchronization, and embodied presence between horse and human.

• Integration & Expressive Arts — incorporating journaling, expressive arts, movement, reflection, and group dialogue to deepen insight and integrate the experience into personal, relational, creative, or professional practice.

The “Third Body” Exploration

In this workshop, we do not only observe the horse — we explore the relational space between horse and human. Together, we investigate the “Third Body”: the shared physiological, emotional, sensory, and energetic field that emerges when two nervous systems meet in mutual awareness.

Participants will learn to track their own internal state while observing how horses respond in real time through movement, proximity, rhythm, attention, and relational engagement.

Who This Is For

Therapists & Trainees

Explore embodied awareness, co-regulation, somatic attunement, “bottom-up” processing, and relational neuroscience through direct experiential learning.

Educators, Caregivers & Leaders

Develop deeper tools for presence, emotional regulation, communication, adaptability, and relational connection.

The Equine Curious

Gain a grounded and experiential introduction to the NEIGH Method and the evolving field of equine neuroscience and horse-human relational learning.

Note: No prior horse experience is required. This is a non-riding, ground-based learning environment.
